Description
This remarkable coffee comes from the Ikizere group, a collective of 23 women producers from the Nyaruguru district in Rwanda. Widows or single mothers, they combine their expertise and determination to offer an exceptional specialty coffee.
Grown at altitudes between 1,550 and 1,850 meters, this washed Red Bourbon is processed at the Fugi station, where the cherries are manually depulped using a traditional Rwandan method. The cup profile is bright, floral, and sweet, showcasing the characteristic elegance of the Nyaruguru terroir.
Through their collaboration with Baho Coffee and Semilla Coffee, these producers receive a price that is 50% higher than the national average, along with ongoing support: fair wages, health insurance, and staggered payments.
Each cup directly supports the improvement of their living conditions and helps build a fairer future for women in Rwanda’s coffee sector.
