Description
This remarkable coffee comes from the Ikizere group, a collective of 23 women producers in the Nyaruguru district of Rwanda. Widows or single mothers, they pool their expertise and determination to offer an exceptional specialty coffee.
Grown at an altitude of between 1,550 and 1,850 meters, this washed Red Bourbon is processed at the Fugi station, where the cherries are pulped manually using a traditional Rwandan method. The result in the cup is bright, with floral and sweet notes, and an elegance typical of the Nyaruguru terroirs.
Thanks to their collaboration with Baho Coffee and Semilla Coffee, these women producers receive a price 50% higher than the national average, as well as ongoing support: fair wages, health insurance, and staggered payments.
